Automotive Tech Program’s Annual Awards Banquet
On May 17th, members of the Club attended the Midland College Automotive Tech Program’s Annual Awards Banquet and presented the Program a $4,500 check for scholarships – we have supported the students in this program with scholarships for 6 years now.

Discount Tire Mini Show
On a surprisingly cold May 19th, the Club supported Discount Tire, one of our local sponsors, with a “mini” show of 8 cars and enthusiastic car owners.

Midland Hispanic Chamber of Commerce Texas Street Dance
On June 1st we hosted a car show associated with the Midland Hispanic Chamber of Commerce’s Texas Street Dance. There were 38 registered cars (not bad for a first-of-its-kind Friday evening event) entered in 10 classes and awarded 1st - 3rd place plaques (sponsored by O’Reilly) in each class! There were two great bands, great food and 2,500 spectators. We hope to repeat this event next year with a few improvements so keep checking our website.

Tech session
On June 28th we had a very informative tech session hosted by Pete Johnson of Robert’s Machine Shop. Pete went through the theory and principles of a dynamometer as well as flow testing heads on a flow bench, then he demonstrated both and answered all kinds of questions! Pete is a great machinist and a natural teacher and loves discussing engines – and can do so at any level of understanding so we all came away with a much better understanding. THANKS VERY MUCH PETE!!!
